Today I would like to say before sharing a story of mine, which doesn’t directly involve me but still in a way it does, that I came from a happy family and so I tried to make my family feel: Happy.
No let’s start our story: When I was young I knew two families which had a very good relationship with each other even though they didn't have much in common regarding their backgrounds and interests. They were neighbors. One of the family’s wives had a doctor for a husband and the other a policeman. What they had in common was that both families had each a daughter at the same age in the same class at school together with excellent grades, both of them. The girls were very close with one another and would always stay at each others houses and do their homework together.
One day each of their fathers asked them what was so appealing or worse what exactly did they have in common to spend so much time together. The girls were surprised by that question and said that they didn't see it from that perspective but instead enjoyed their friendship together. One day while the policeman’s daughter was having dinner at their home he asked her:”why would your dad choose to become a policeman”? The girl didn't answer immediately and kept eating quietly. After staying over to finish her homework before leaving she finally answered:” Probably to do a good deed for the society”.
Apparently both families were comfortable with their position and neither felt obliged to act or feel differently at the presence of each other.
