Do you still remember my little story of the Policeman and Doctor? Well, I wanted to add something to that story that I left untold the other time.
The policeman was loved and respected by everyone on the neighborhood as he was always polite and caring towards them. They felt safe when he was around because they trusted him. On the other hand they wouldn’t feel the same about the doctor. He would always walk proudly in front of his neighbors and never greet them. He would glance at them from afar coldly as if looking at his next patient. This might have been a normal behavior for him but to his neighbors he gave off a feeling of detachment and ambiguity.
One day after having witness the neighbors behavior the doctor’s daughter asked the policeman:-” Why do people fear my dad and respect you, Mister? Is it because my dad is too rigid?”
The man knowing that his daughter was there listening answered: -“ Maybe because I don’t know how to use a syringe!”
The doctor’s daughter was not convinced by just that though.
After hugging the policeman daughter goodbye she went home. At that time the policeman daughter’s recalled what her dad once told her:” Having a profession means having the ability to do something very well not imposing fake authority on other people’s eyes.”
